Dr. John Pezzuto is Dean of Long Island University Pharmacy and Vice President of LIU Health and Research. Prior to joining LIU, John served a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Purdue University, and founding dean of the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy at the University of Hawaii. He was the 2014 recipient of the Volwiler Research Award by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and is widely known for identifying the cancer-prevention aspects of resveratrol, a chemical found in grapes and grape products. John is the author of more than six hundred publications, co-inventor of several patents, editor of five books, and a member of over ten editorial boards. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal Pharmaceutical Biology. John received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University and his PhD in Biochemistry from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers). Postdoctoral studies were performed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Leon C. Landau, MD

Dr. Leon C. Landau is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist. For more than forty years he has treated patients both privately and as an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University where he helped train the next generation of oncologists. He has been listed numerous times in both New York Magazine and Castle Connolly's Top Doctors. Leon is active in many civic causes and serves on the Executive Committee of the UJA-Federation of New York’s Montefiore-Einstein Campaign. He earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Johns Hopkins University and his residency and fellowship in oncology at Montefiore.
Daniel Mark Siegel, MD, MS

Dr. Daniel Siegel is a board certified dermatologists with expertise in the areas of medicine, policy, economics, and botany. He is Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the State University of New York at Downstate School of Medicine and an attending physician at SUNY Downstate Medical, Veterans Administration New York Harbor Healthcare System and serves on the medical staff of Eastern Long Island Hospital. Dan a board member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He was also the founder of the Division of Dermatologic Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook. He is a past President and member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dan has also lectured and published extensively on plant medicine. He has been an invited guest on the People’s Pharmacy syndicated radio show. Dan received a combined six-year biomedical undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He earned a master of science degree in management and policy and a certificate in labor/management studies from the W. Averell Harriman School for Management and Policy at SUNY Stony Brook.
Kevin A Phelan, PhD

Dr. Kevin Phelan is a neuroscientist with twenty-five years of experience in new drug development, regulatory affairs and compliance. He specializes in the design and execution of regulatory strategies related to new drugs, new formulations, and new therapeutic uses for approved products. Currently Kevin is an independent consultant, advising small-to-midsize companies on investigational new drug programs regulated by the FDA and other international government agencies. He was a member of Global Research & Development, and Worldwide Regulatory Affairs at Pfizer Inc, where he worked extensively in the therapeutic areas of neuroscience, pain and inflammation. He received his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University and his PhD in neurobiology from The University of Chicago. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Columbia University Medical Center.
Alexander Neumeister, MD

Dr. Alexander Neumeister is a researcher in neurology and psychiatry focusing on understanding the body’s response to trauma. His work in post-traumatic stress disorder is supported by the World Health Organization, the United States Department of National Defense and the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health. His team discovered the connection between PTSD and the body’s endocannabinoid system, establishing proof-of-concept for the therapeutic role of medical marijuana. Alex has received the A.E. Bennett Award of the Society of Biological Psychiatry. He has published in leading neuroscience journals, and serves on the councils of both public and federal institutions.
He is a graduate of the University of Vienna-Austria Medical School, and has served serving in positions of clinical and academic leadership at New York University, Mt Sinai, Yale, and University of Vienna Schools of Medicine.
Joseph P. Navarra, RPh, FACA

Mr. Joseph Navarra is a pharmacist and the owner of the Town Total Compounding Center in Woodbury, New York, an accredited compounding only pharmacy for sterile and non-sterile products. His experience in formulating medications for use in clinical trials includes collaborations with New York University's Dysautonomia Center for Parkinson's Research, Mt. Sinai's Department of Psychiatry, and Montefiore's Department of Dermatology. He plays an active role in local, state and national-level pharmacy organizations. He is currently on the board of the New York City Pharmacists Society. Joseph is a graduate of St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. He is a fellow of the American College of Apothecaries.
