Charles R. Catalano
President of the Pharmacy Society of the State of New York
President of C&S Pharmacy Consultants

Charles is a pharmacist with nearly forty years of experience in advocacy, consultancy, and teaching roles.  He worked with the New York City Department of Health to develop a plan to mobilize pharmacies in the event of a bioterrorist attack and with the State in passing legislation regarding the use of mail order pharmacies. He advocated for the passage of the Compassionate Care Act.  Charles recently served as the Chairman of the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York. For the past twenty-five years, Charles has served as President of C&S Pharmacy Consultants, servicing over thirty agencies throughout the metropolitan area. He also supervises World's Fair/Total Care Pharmacy's Long Term Care Division, an independent community pharmacy. He was awarded Preceptor of the Year by St John's University, and the Bowl of Hygeia Award by the American Pharmacists Association. Charles is a graduate of Queens College and the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.

  

Margie Kuo

Margie is a healthcare marketer with nearly twenty-five years of commercial and strategic leadership experience in medical education, over-the-counter products and prescription medicines.  She is also an adjunct professor in the Master of Science for Integrated Marketing program at New York University. At Adamas Pharmaceuticals, Inc., she is responsible for positioning and commercializing the company’s first central nervous system medicine.  She was at Pfizer Inc. for nearly twenty years, where she was the commercial lead for medicines in a range of therapeutic areas.   Through her strategic healthcare consultancy, MK Insights, she has also helped other clients in therapeutic areas, including rare diseases and oncology. Margie earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University, and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.  

 

Lauren Handel

Lauren is the principal attorney of Handel Food Law LLC where she counsels clients on regulatory compliance and all aspects of law affecting food, agricultural and alcoholic beverage businesses. She also represents clients in transactions, litigation and regulatory proceedings. She previously was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP where her practice concentrated on product liability and environmental litigation, as well as workplace safety and environmental regulation. Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, her JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and an LLM in Agricultural and Food Law at the University of Arkansas, School of Law.

  

Marianne Bays

Marianne is a medical cannabis industry business analyst and consultant. She has over twenty years of experience consulting with organizations on business process, performance and structure improvement. She has testified at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senate Health Committee hearings on program regulations as they affected ability to build a medical cannabis industry. Marianne sits on the Executive Board of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association and is an advisor to the American Cannabis Nurses Association and the NORML NJ Women’s Alliance. She has consulted with many Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies. Marianne earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree at Montclair State College and her PhD in Business Organization and Policy Studies at the City University of New York. 

 

Jennifer Grossman

Jennifer is conservation consultant with twenty-five years of strategic environmental work in both the public and private sectors. She is the Founder/President of FarmCo New York. She was Vice President for Land Acquisition of the Open Space Institute, where she oversaw a multimillion-dollar budget and preserved more than 100,000 acres of natural landscape in the State of New York.   Previously, she was a Senior Attorney at the Office of General Counsel for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Jennifer sits on the boards of the Norcross Wildlife Foundation, the Atlantic Salmon Federation, the Watershed Agricultural Council, and is an advisor to the Glynwood Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Binghamton University and her J.D. at Boston University School of Law.
